Access to La Plagne by car

The resort of La Plagne is close to the town of Aime-La-Plagne, situated in the department of Savoie, in the Northern Alps. It takes 2h10 from Lyon, 1h25 from Grenoble and 1h05 from Chambéry.
From Chambery, take the A43 and A430 highway or from Grenoble the A41 and A430 highway to Albertville then the N90 following Bourg-Saint-Maurice direction, as far as Aime.
To access Belle Plagne, Plagne Bellecôte, Plagne Centre, Aime 2000, Plagne Villages, Plagne 1800, Plagne Soleil, take the D220 from Aime following signs to La Plagne.
To access Montalbert, take the D220 following signs to Plagne Montalbert.
To access Montchavin Les Coches, continue towards Bourg-Saint-Maurice as far as Bellentre. Shortly after Bellentre, follow signs to Montchavin-Les Coches on your right.

Advice from La Grande Plagne Tourism: switch off your Sat Nav when you get to Albertville to avoid suggestions of roads that are closed during the winter.

Mandatory winter equipment

Mandatory winter equipment

To ensure everyone’s safety on our roads, the law now requires drivers to have equipment adapted to winter. From November 1 to March 31, it is mandatory:
- either to have metal snow chains or textile snow socks to equip at least two of the car’s driving wheels.
- or to be equipped with four winter tyres.

La Plagne car parks are not free. We can pre-reserve your underground parking lot (only on Belle Plagne and Bellecôte sites, subject to availability).

Parking is free in Plagne Montalbert (outdoor parking only).

Outdoor parking is free in Montchavin and Les Coches on the outskirts of the village centres (village centres are pedestrian).
